Duke once downer dog

Duke was one of the worst cases I had ever see. Owner called to have Duke euthanized. He had 3 bad disks, pneumonia, pus coming out of his eyes and maggots had eaten his feet. I began the process of getting him well. It took 8 months and many hours of IV medicine, PT and constant lifting. Duke regained his ability to walk and lived a happy life as a permanent resident of Rins Rescues

Puppyonthetree_n

born in 1994. One of the very first rescues found in the gutter in the dirty streets. we saw this tiny 4 week old kitten wobbling on the curb, then saw him pass out and fall into the gutter. We grabbed him up and raced him to the Vets office. We were given SQ fluids, antibiotics and eye dropper to feed him with. After 3 weeks he finally started eating on his own. He became our personal pet.

Scooby

Scooby, born in 2008, he was owner surrendered to the shelter for discospondylitis, an extremely painful and costly disease. After months of medical care he is all recovered and in his forever home.

Godzilla and Elsa

Godzilla loves the babies, this is one of over 50 orphans he has raised and taken care of. They all grew up and went on to be with their new families.

Godzilla

Godzilla was brought in with his 3 other siblings by a good Samaritan who found the litter in an alley. Godzilla was to be euthanized due to being down in the rear and bladder expression for life.Godzilla soon became a nurse to all the under aged babies that came through the house, as well as caring and grooming the senior animals here.

Hercules

a neutered male cat, born 1997, came down with distemper as a kitten and beat the odds. He is a current senior resident with hyperthyroid disease and on medicine for life. He enjoys laying in the sun, head pets,he loves to hang out in room number 3 and television.

Justice

Born in 2015, spayed female Doberman, she was provided to us for protection for the all the little fur kids as well as the property itself. She is one of 3 large breed protectors here at Rins Rescues

Justin

Justin, female Collie/Chow mix, she was found by us in a vacant yard with a broken pelvis. She was terrified at first, then I opened a can of food and she hungrily ate. She never left my side after that day until cancer took her life at 16 years old.

Keifer Sutherland

Keifer was one of 14 kittens saved in 2015 from a high kill shelter. He and the remaining 13 under age kittens brought to the shelter that day were all rescued by Rins Rescues. All now have wonderful loving homes.

Salem Winter and Gris Gris

left to right, Salem, Manx cat, Winter, Eskie mix and Gris Gris. Winter was on the euthanasia list a high kill shelter. She was rescued and placed in an amazing home.

Spencer

born in 1999, neutered male Himalayan cat. Spencer came to us at 11 years old he was an owner surrender due to his ill mannered behavior, he would attack guests in the former owners home and even the owners themselves. He's a current resident at Rins Rescues

Lannister

came to us in 2013, at 4 weeks old weighing only a few ounces with one of the worst cases of chronic URI we have ever seen. Lannister had to have a feeding tube placed as well as IV catheter for antibiotics and fluids continuing his medical therapy. Lannister is on medicines for his condition for the remainder of his long life ahead. He is now 12 pounds and on medication for life.

a Pom/Chi neutered male senior rescued from death row from the shelter in 2014 at the age of 14. He was vetted with the works now 16 years old in 2016. He has hypothyroid disease and on medicine for life

Mr. Doolittle

Pomeranian, came to us 9/2011 at age 12 years old with matted hair and over 50 foxtails embedded in his skin. A Full shave was required to remove all of the foxtails. He couldn't walk on his own, as he was too weak with Pneumonia. Mr. Doolittle made a full recovery after a month of treatments. Today, in 2016, he is 17 years old, being treated for life for hypothyroid disease and is a current resident of Rin's Rescues.

Vox

Vox, an amazing 14 pound, 3 year old, neutered male Manx cat. Vox was at a high kill shelter with a URI. He was only 3 weeks old and our transport didn't think he was going to make it to the vet's office, as he was passing out from low blood sugar and his illness. He weighed only a few ounces when he arrived. We force fed him, used a nebulizer, and gave IV antibiotics. We fell in love with this wonderful soul. He is on medicine for the rest of his life.

Jules Vern

Jules Vern, current 2016 resident, 10 year old, male Pomeranian with immune mediated skin disease. He had 1/2 inch thick skin crusts over 50% of his body. He did not have use of his back legs. After many tests he is now walking and on multiple costly medications for life. He is a wonderful, happy little guy and doesn't even look like the same dog anymore as shown here in his after photo.

Rain

Rain was 6 months old in 2005 when we received a call from her owner saying she was hurt in her backyard and to come pick her up to euthanize her, as she was semi feral. She was not yet spayed, no vaccines and had a large abscess from a cat fight. We took her to a pet hospital and mended her injuries, spayed her and gave her antibiotics. We notched her right ear for proof of spay in a feral cat.

Jack Von Earwig, AKA Wiggie

Wiggy was dumped in a shelter in 2014 at the age of 12 or older. He has been diagnosed with Cushings disease and is on costly medicine for life. He loves belly scratches and playing with his friends.

Kira

Kira, a Maine coon manx female, was rescued in 1997 at 6 weeks old from a backyard breeder. She was the runt of the litter and had medical needs. Rin's Rescues live in care taker fell in love with her, and she remained as a personal pet and mascot at Rin's Rescues.

Charlie

Charlie, a Pomeranian we rescued with horrible skin disease in 2013. After thousands of dollars and tests, we found that he had MRSA and hypothyroid disease. He is on a special diet and various costly treatment for life, including Atopica, Medral, thyroxine, ketoconazole, pentoxifylline, and a ZD diet.

Miracle

Miracle, a spayed female Siamese Cat, came into our office as a stray in 2004 at age 6 months with a badly mangled leg. She had to have 5 surgeries, 3 plasma transfusions, IV fluids and antibiotics, a hyperbaric chamber. She had a very long recovery with wet to dry bandages and Acell treatment due to had necrotizing fasciitis after her leg amputation. She is a current, 3 legged, spayed female, wonderful fur kid living the good life. We never gave up!

Clarice

Born in 2014. She was an intact female shitzu mix on death row in the shelter. We rescued her, spayed, vaccinated, temp test, micro-chipped and adopted her to a new forever home.

Gris Gris

14 year old calico who's caregiver had passed away. As it is difficult to find a home a senior cat, she became a resident at Rin's Rescues.

Gerry

Gerry is a 14 year old male Chow/Eskie mix. Gerry came to us in 2013, and his rear leg was one giant tumor full of Cancer, so he was to be euthanized at the shelter. We pulled him from the shelter, and we removed his leg. He is now a current resident at Rin's Rescues.

Izzy & Kinnon

Izzy, a 10 year old white female german shepherd. Someone witnessed her being thrown from a car at 4 months old. She was so terrified it was hard to find a home for her. She is now a permanent resident and gaurdian to the smaller animals and caregivers. Kinnon, a 7 year old female Rottweiler mix, was on Death row at an overcrowded shelter at 4 months. We pulled her from the shelter for a friend for Izzy. The 2 are inseparable.

Gabby

Gabby is a sweet little 6 year girl Pomeranian who was on death row at a local shelter in Los Angeles. We pulled her from the shelter, vetted her, chipped and spayed, adopted her to her new home.

Mouse

Mouse is a 4 year old spayed female cat. We rescued an underage litter from the shelter, and Mouse was a very unthrifty runt kitten. All her brothers and sisters were adopted at 8 weeks old. We decided to keep her as she was so tiny, and she had tremors and low blood sugar all the time. She still has tremors and is closely monitored by us, on medicine for life for feline herpes and URI.

Q-Tip

Q-TIP, a 6 year old Pom, possibly younger, available for adoption. He's amazing, neutered, loves everyone, chipped, and vaccinated. He's an excellent watch dog as well - only barks when necessary!

Tasha

Tasha, a 9 month old spayed female boxer mix, is great with people and children. She is not as great with small dogs or cats. Chipped, vaccinated, ready to join your family. Very well trained, sits, lays down, stays, shakes hands

C-Spot

We love C-Spot's lone black spot and tail. She is 11 weeks old, outgoing, goofy and sweet, a charmer. She has shots, is tested, chipped, and de-wormed.

Mom and baby, both very loving and sweet, chipped, spayed, vaccinated, love other cats. Midnight is 9 months old, her baby is 8 weeks old, both ready for homes.
